 Bad sketches happen

Carl here.  I had a bummer of a sketch today.  I was working in watercolor at The Four Arts Garden.  My pencil drawing looked great!  It had lively lines and fairly represented the entry to the Chinese Garden from the inside.  The painting did not work.  I brought a different paint set than I normally sketch with and my colors were off and the palette was way to big so I was off kilter the whole time.  I'm only writing this as a reminder to everyone it happens from time to time.  Even folks who sketch 50-100 times a year can have an off day.  What do I do when it happens.  Laugh it off.  Visit with my sketching pals and remember we are outside at a beautiful location.  It's ok to have an off sketch or two or three nobody is keeping score.
