This week is a 2-fer for sketchers

This week the Sketchers will have two meetups! Come join us for a morning of sketching fun. The weather looks like it should cooperate! All levels welcome!

Our two sketch meet ups will be.

Friday 7/30/21 9am up at Lake Worth Beach. Meet by the tarps by the pier. There are several interesting views as well as some shade and a breeze.

Sunday 8/1/21 Via Parigi off of Worth Ave Palm Beach 9am. The Vias off of Worth Ave are a treasure trove of sketching opportunities. We’ll start at Parigi and possible venture to a few others. Carl Stoveland can take a couple of people in his car if you want to carpool. Send him a message if you’d like to carpool.

What do you need for sketching? Could be as simple as a sketchbook or paper and a pencil. Some people work in watercolor but really it’s what you are comfortable with. It’s summer in South Florida so drinking water and a hat are a must.

Sketch up Blue Front This Friday

 Hi Sketchers!

We will be meeting up to sketch this Friday, 7/23 at 9am.  Our subject is the iconic Blue Front Grill on Dixie Highway.  We'll be meeting up in front of United Professional Engineering on the NW corner of 12th N and Dixie.  They are allowing us to meet and sketch on the corner in front of their building.  Please be considerate and park in the neighborhood not in UPE's employee lot.  This is a great subject with great lines and colors so could be great done in graphite / Charcoal or watercolor and ink.  It will be hot so bring something to drink.  When we meet up on Friday we will have a schedule for meetups for the rest of the summer.  Here is a photo I took of the restaurant at night while it was still open.  It will make a great sketch subject.

Lake Worth Beach Urban Sketchers held it's first sketch meetup!

Welcome to the home of the newly formed Lake Worth Beach Urban Sketchers!  We had our very first meetup on Friday, July 2nd.  Our subject wasThe Robert M. Montgomery, Jr. Building. Home of the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County.  We had nine artist turn up for our first event and it was a huge success! pictured above are a few of the artist who participated in the sketch meetup.  Our next meet up is Friday, July 9th starting at 9am at the Cultural Plaza in Lake Worth (M street between Lake and Lucerne.  We plan to have sketch meetups every week or two in Lake Worth and around Palm Beach County.  We will try to mix up the days between weekdays and weekends.  The group is open to people of all artistic levels who want to enjoy sketching onsite with friendly like minded people.
